The Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree at FTC Kaplan is awarded by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), and offers students a fantastic opportunity to acquire a world renowned University degree.
The MBA programme at FTC Kaplan builds on the excellent business and management content of the LJMU MBA, and develops practical professional skills to help studens achieve their career goals.
An important element in studying an MBA is the acquisition of skills. The student will develop analytical abilities as well as essential managerial skills such as teamwork, leadership and effective communications. An ability to interpret data is also developed through modules such as International Management and International Business & Trade.
The MBA consists of 120 taught credits and a 60-credit dissertation. Normally three modules in each of two semesters are taught. Semesters are 15-week blocks and run from September to December and February to May. Students are expected to work on their own and in groups during the programme.
On completion of the taught elements students will proceed to the dissertation stage. During this part of the programme students will be assigned a supervisor to work with. The dissertation must be completed within six months. On successful completion of the dissertation the MBA will be awarded.
Research Skills Analysis is taught throughout both semesters and is intended to support the skills needed to study effectively and to complete the dissertation.
