Finance and Financial Services
The Finance and Financial Services programmes are best suited to participants with a minimum Intermediate level of English on entry (IELTS 5.5 for the certificate; IELTS 5.0 for the higher certificate, diploma and foundation), who are seeking a professional skills programme specialising in English, and international finance, business and economics. The courses are aimed at young professionals and students who are seeking a career or further study in finance-related fields and require proficiency in English. Depending on the options selected by students, these courses lead to awards from BBSI and NCFE, and the City and Guilds (Vocational Key Skills Certificate) .
The 36-week (3-term) diploma course (DFS 36) comprises 26 lessons weekly. The course includes all 3 terms described and leads to BBSI and NCFE awards, plus the City and Guilds (Vocational Key Skills Certificate). The minimum language proficiency for entry is IELTS 5.0.

Course Objectives
-to develop confidence and fluency in the language beyond intermediate level

-to prepare students for university degree courses in finance, financial services or economic-related fields

-to prepare students for the optional ECDL qualification
Learning Outcomes
Students with good attendance and who complete all assignments can expect to achieve a minimum language level of IELTS 6.0/6.5. They will also be able to function effectively in English in a professional finance and business environment, and will have acquired a sound knowledge and understanding of international finance, economics and financial services.
Further Study
Students who have completed the BBSI Finance and Financial Services Foundation can access both undergraduate and postgraduate university courses in the fields of finance and economics.
