The Science and Technology programmes are best suited to participants with a minimum Intermediate level of English on entry (IELTS 4.5), who are seeking a professional skills programme specialising in English, science and technology. The courses are aimed at young professionals and students who are seeking a career or further study science, technology and engineering-related fields and require proficiency in English. These courses lead to BBSI and NCFE awards.

A 12-week (1-term) certificate course (CST 12) comprises 26 lessons weekly in English language communication skills and science and technology. The course leads to BBSI and NCFE awards. The minimum language proficiency for entry is IELTS 4.5.
Course Content

6 lessons science foundation in physics, chemistry and biology
4 lessons in IT skills or IELTS Examination

Course Objectives
-to develop confidence and fluency in the language beyond intermediate level
-to build appropriate vocabulary and foundation in business, science and technology
-to develop sound, practical communication and presentation skills
-to develop a sound understanding and awareness of cross-cultural issues relating to science and technology
-to prepare students for university degree courses in science and technology-related fields
-to prepare students for the IELTS examination
-to prepare students for the optional ECDL qualification
Learning Outcomes
Students with good attendance and who complete all assignments can expect to achieve a minimum language level of IELTS 5.5/6.0. They will also be able to function effectively in English in a professional environment in the fields of science, technology or engineering, and will have acquired a sound knowledge and understanding of international issues in these fields.
